After a period of discernment and prayer, I announced this morning that I will be leaving the Parish of Colgate and Roffey at the end of July and will be moving to Beckenham in Kent to become the next Vicar of the United Benefice of St James with St Michael and All Angels and St Augustine Beckenham in the Diocese of Rochester.
I have had a great time being part of the community in Horsham meeting and becoming friends with some truly wonderful people. But after 9 happy years here the time feels right to move on to pastures new and allow someone new to lead and guide the parish into its next phase of mission and Ministry. The discussion to move has not been easy and I will be sad to leave but I know the church is in safe hands with Fr David and churchwardens to you leading you through the vacancy. Over the next few months, I will be working with them, the Archdeacon and the Rural Dean to ensure a smooth interregnum.
I intend my last Sunday to be 28th July then moving to Beckenham during the first few weeks of August and then have a short holiday. It is expected that my induction will be during the first part of September.
I commend Fr David and the churchwardens to your prayers, and I assure you of my prayers that the right person may be appointed to succeed me.
Fr Russell
